Cycle a Difference Vietnam Challenge Ride 2013 – Title Sponsor
Premier Oil plc (Premier) is delighted to sponsor the Newborns Vietnam’s Cycle a Difference – Vietnam Challenge Ride 2013, a 850 mile cycle ride across Vietnam. The ride is raising funds for a neonatal nurse training programme in Vietnam where currently there is no specialist neonatal nurse training. It is recognised worldwide that nursing skills and knowledge are critical to neonates’ survival. Globally the shortage of trained nurses is a major factor in why mortality remains high in developing countries.
The funds raised from the ride will support the formation of a UK/Vietnam neonatal nurse education partnership. Through this partnership, professionals from a British University will teach neonatal nursing and will build the capacity of the local college and health providers in central Vietnam. This project will bring together individuals, companies and countries in a high profile sport to save lives and bring about sustainable change in newborn care.
In addition to sponsoring the event, Premier is delighted that two members of its senior staff, one from its London office and one from its Ho Chi Minh City office, are participating in the Cycle a Difference – Vietnam Challenge Ride 2013 to make Learning for Life, a certificate in neonatal nursing, a reality.
